Today’s Post<\/p>\n

A friend introduced me to the poet, W. S. Merwin. \u00a0 \u00a0All sorts of recognition for his poetry. \u00a0Makes me wonder how I’ve missed him all this time. \u00a0 \u00a0 Wikipedia’s short bio concludes: \u00a0\u201cIn June 2010, the\u00a0Library of Congress<\/a>\u00a0named Merwin the seventeenth\u00a0United States Poet Laureate<\/a>\u00a0to replace the outgoing\u00a0Kay Ryan<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0He is the subject of the 2014 documentary film\u00a0Even Though the Whole World Is Burning<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

How many times have I noticed, remembering something that I had missed first time around, something that hindsight tells me was important, and becomes important in the remembering? \u00a0 Remembering, teaches St. Ignatius Loyola, can reweave the fabric of a life. \u00a0\u201cAttention should be paid to some more important places in which I have experienced understanding, consolation, or desolation.\u201d (Spiritual Exercises \u00a0Par. 118)<\/p>\n
