{"id":115,"date":"2013-10-28T00:00:58","date_gmt":"2013-10-28T00:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/mission-and-identity\/?p=115"},"modified":"2019-09-18T16:51:43","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T20:51:43","slug":"autumn-russet-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2013\/10\/28\/autumn-russet-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"our hands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monday \u00a0October 28<\/p>\n<p>On \u00a0September 26 one year &amp; one month ago, Dave Nantais, Director of University Ministry sent this blessing on the list. \u00a0It&#8217;s taken from the health care tradition of the Sisters of Mercy. \u00a0 \u00a0Dave introduced it as follows: \u00a0\u00a0&#8220;Our September reflection comes from the College of Health Professions. Faculty, staff and students from the college created the &#8220;Blessing of Hands&#8221; that we prayed during Celebrate Spirit. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When I browsed the folder of poems and blessings this morning it caught my attention.\u00a0 \u00a0Felt like a good opener for this week.<\/p>\n<p>john sj<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today&#8217;s Word: \u00a0Blessing of Hands<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hold up your hands and look at them<br \/>\nSee your hands as God sees them.<br \/>\nRecognize the source of their power.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine your life in and beyond the classroom. See the work of your hands in kitchens and corridors, on tennis and basketball courts, in dorms and dining rooms, at planning tables and parties and in gatherings of every kind. \u00a0Choose to use your hands this year for good.
