{"id":1392,"date":"2015-05-29T00:00:38","date_gmt":"2015-05-29T04:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/mission-and-identity\/?p=1392"},"modified":"2019-09-18T16:49:23","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T20:49:23","slug":"may-29-40-udm-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2015\/05\/29\/may-29-40-udm-people\/","title":{"rendered":"May 29  &#8211;  40 UDM people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Friday, May 29 &#8211; a room full of listening<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>40 UDM people, none of whom knew all of whom before we began, finished an intense day of listening in the President\u2019s Dining Room by walking across campus to Lansing Reilly, the Jesuit residence, for some way above ordinary things to eat, plus very good IPA\u2019s, Australian wine, and iced water or soda. \u00a0 Lots of fatigue in that parlor space and lots of kinship. \u00a0Listening-generated affection and lots of ideas about the creativity of this process \u2014 i.e., using hospitality to gather employees from all sides of the university and inviting story listening to weave a fabric of 40 people which had not existed across those specific 40 people before. \u00a0 More to come I think.<\/p>\n<p>This morning after a good long sleep, an idea for today\u2019s post caught my attention. \u00a0 &#8220;Make it short. \u00a0Make it deep. \u00a0Make it fit this Friday for the few people who shared this university process and the many people who work at weaving human fabric across the world.&#8221; \u00a0 That said, this once, I also want to dedicate the poem to the 40 people\u00a0who have been on my mind a lot these last days.<\/p>\n<p>Have a blest weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>john sj<\/p>\n<p>p.s.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m heading to Pine Ridge SD Sunday for a week with soul friends there. \u00a0 I\u2019ll probably post from there once or twice. \u00a0 Back June 7.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s Post<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enough.
