{"id":16,"date":"2013-11-26T00:00:26","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T00:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/mission-and-identity\/?p=16"},"modified":"2019-09-18T16:51:37","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T20:51:37","slug":"thanksgiving-blessing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2013\/11\/26\/thanksgiving-blessing\/","title":{"rendered":"thanksgiving blessing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday \u00a0November 26<\/p>\n<p>Thanksgiving looks to close to the ground human experience &#8212; visiting, \u00a0 cooking, \u00a0eating, \u00a0maybe watching some football, \u00a0 gatherings of different branches of your family. \u00a0 Thinking of that this morning reminded me of a blessing we posted on October 28, taken from the health care tradition of the Sisters of Mercy. \u00a0As written for UDM it has the effect of bringing those who read it or listen to it close to the human fabric of our place of work. \u00a0 A good send off into this wonderful few days of respite.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Thanksgiving to you.<\/p>\n<p>john st sj<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<strong>Today&#8217;s Word: \u00a0Blessing of Hands<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Hold up your hands and look at them<br \/>\nSee your hands as God sees them.<br \/>\nRecognize the source of their power.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine your life in and beyond the classroom. See the work of your hands in kitchens and corridors, on tennis and basketball courts, in dorms and dining rooms, at planning tables and parties and in gatherings of every kind. \u00a0Choose to use your hands this year for good.
