{"id":1776,"date":"2016-03-07T00:00:06","date_gmt":"2016-03-07T05:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/mission-and-identity\/?p=1776"},"modified":"2019-09-18T16:47:53","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T20:47:53","slug":"spring-break-march-7-59o-this-afternoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2016\/03\/07\/spring-break-march-7-59o-this-afternoon\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Break &#8211; March 7   &#8212;   &#8220;59\u00ba this afternoon&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Monday, March 7 \u00a0\u2014 \u00a0 &#8220;<\/strong><strong>There lives the dearest freshness deep down things&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When students disembark for a week, their campus breathes in a more relaxed fashion; \u00a0lots of employees can turn from work-day jobs to their pile of longer term tasks that always form a backdrop to their \u201c<u>do this NOW<\/u>\u201d stuff.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a joy, too, to wake to elegant, spring-like sunshine offering powder blue air all around. \u00a0Warmer too, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/weather.com\">Weather.com<\/a> says 59\u00ba this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>There may be no better poem for such an inviting morning than \u201cGod\u2019s Grandeur.\u201d \u00a0As with every strong poet, every word matters. \u00a0If you live in Detroit or any other place where the sun colors everything outside today, you might try reading this G. M.
