{"id":2533,"date":"2018-01-12T00:00:49","date_gmt":"2018-01-12T05:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/mission-and-identity\/?p=2533"},"modified":"2019-09-18T16:45:45","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T20:45:45","slug":"jan-12-2016-gerry-stockhausen-sj-r-i-p","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2018\/01\/12\/jan-12-2016-gerry-stockhausen-sj-r-i-p\/","title":{"rendered":"Jan 12 2016  Gerry Stockhausen, sj  +  r.i.p"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, January 12, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Gerry Stockhausen passed two years ago today. \u00a0He was grieved by many women and men I know. \u00a0A beautiful presence in this university and in the lives of many people. \u00a0Six days after Stock, died we held a memorial mass and service at Gesu Parish across McNichols Road from us. \u00a0Here is the post from that day. \u00a0 Stock is beautiful to me and to many readers of this post. \u00a0r i. p. \u00a0Mary Oliver ends her poem\u00a0\u201cWhen Death Comes\u201d \u00a0like this: \u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t want to end up simply having visited this world.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0Stock was not a tourist\u00a0either;
