days of a deep goodbye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>April 9 \u2013 Saying goodbye to your soul friend and sister<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"x_entry-meta\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Monday, \u00a0April 9 \u00a0 Mary Kelly rsm and Denise Levertov<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_entry-content\">\n<p class=\"\">I\u2019ve finally opened Denise Levertov\u2019s last book,\u00a0<u class=\"\">The Great Unknowing: Last Poems<\/u>. \u00a0She is one of my go-to poets and her final book daunts me; why I am not sure. \u00a0Perhaps because the finality of her death, now so long ago (December 1997), interrupts years of savoring her body of work, expecting surprises and wonder again and again. \u00a0Today\u2019s post, the first poem in her final book, fits my sense of what this week in Detroit calls out of me. \u00a0 \u00a0I find myself among the many women and men who are preparing our imaginations for the finality of death\u2019s moment in the vibrant and resilient life of Mary Kelly, rsm. \u00a0 Those of us who can make it will gather, \u00a0Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, at Mercy Center to live our goodbyes with stories and song. \u00a0 Levertov\u2019s \u201cFrom Below\u201d helps me into this week of stillness;
