A Companion Has Left Us<\/p>\n

\nRest in Peace

Today\u2019s Post: \u00a0 Blessing in the Dust<\/strong><\/p>\n

You thought the blessing
\nwould come
\nin the staying;
\nin casting your lot
\nwith this place,
\nthese people;
\nin learning the art
\nof remaining,
\nof abiding.<\/p>\n

And now you stand
\non the threshold
\nagain.
\nThe home you had
\nhoped for,
\nhad ached for,
\nis behind you\u2014
\nnot yours, after all.
\nThe clarity comes
\nas small comfort,
\nperhaps,
\nbut it comes:
\nillumination enough
\nfor the next step.<\/p>\n

As you go,
\nmay you feel
\nthe full weight
\nof your gifts
\ngathered up
\nin your two hands,
\nthe complete measure
\nof their grace
\nin your heart that knows
\nthere is a place
\nfor them,
\nfor the treasure
\nthat you bear.<\/p>\n

I promise you
\nthere is a blessing
\nin the leaving,
\nin the dust shed
\nfrom your shoes
\nas you walk toward home\u2014
\nnot the one you left
\nbut the one that waits ahead,<\/p>\n

the one that already
\nreaches out for you
\nin welcome,
\nin gladness
\nfor the gifts
\nthat none but you
\ncould bring.<\/p>\n
