S. Merwin late in 2014; \u00a0all sorts of recognition for his poetry. \u00a0It makes me wonder how I\u00a0missed him for so long. \u00a0Wikipedia\u2019s short bio concludes: \u00a0\u201cIn June 2010, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Library_of_Congress\">Library of Congress<\/a>\u00a0named Merwin the seventeenth\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Poet_Laureate\">United States Poet Laureate<\/a>\u00a0to replace the outgoing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kay_Ryan\">Kay Ryan<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0He is the subject of the 2014 documentary,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Even_Though_the_Whole_World_Is_Burning\">Even Though the Whole World Is Burning<\/a>.\u201d \u00a0Today\u2019s post remembers a strong poet in these days after his dying.<\/p>\n<p>How many times have I noticed \u2014- remembering something that I had missed the first time around \u00a0\u2014 something, hindsight now tells me, that was already important, and then becomes important again in a later remembering? \u00a0 Remembering, teaches St. Ignatius, can reweave the fabric of a life. \u00a0\u201cAttention should be paid to some more important places in which I have experienced understanding, consolation, or desolation.\u201d (Spiritual Exercises \u00a0Par. 118) \u00a0 Noticing matters. \u00a0 \u00a0Best to read the poet out loud, with pauses.<\/p>\n<p>This last Monday of March clean, fresh sun and sky, and 33\u00ba.\u00a0 Have a blest day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>john st sj<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Post <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>W.
