March mid-month\u00a02020<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time will come
\nwhen, with elation
\nyou will greet yourself arriving
\nat your own door, in your own mirror\u201d<\/p>\n

A good friend sent me this poem which, she thinks, sounds like the poems that move me.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s right about Derek Walcott. \u00a0 His poem makes a place where I feel welcome and at home. \u00a0A good way to begin a day when \u00a0the morning teases me with hints of Spring sunshine, a fine day. \u00a0Even as we listen to one another\u2019s whispering and turn our attention to the loves of our lives, surprising us again today.<\/p>\n

Best to read the poem out loud, with pauses. without hurry.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s Post \u00a0 \u201cLove after Love\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The time will come
\nwhen, with elation,
\nyou will greet yourself arriving
\nat your own door, in your own mirror,<\/p>\n

and each will smile at the other\u2019s welcome,<\/p>\n

and say, sit here. Eat.
\nYou will love again the stranger who was your self.
\nGive wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
\nto itself, to the stranger who has loved you<\/p>\n

all your life, whom you ignored
\nfor another, who knows you by heart.
\nTake down the love letters from the bookshelf,<\/p>\n

the photographs, the desperate notes,
\npeel your own image from the mirror.
\nSit. Feast on your life.<\/p>\n
