January 16, 1955); now I am wondering why.<\/p>\n<p>Have a blest September Monday,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>john sj<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Post \u00a0\u201cThe Voice of God\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ninety percent of what\u2019s wrong with you<br \/>\ncould be cured with a hot bath,<br \/>\nsays God from the bowels of the subway.<br \/>\nbut we want magic, to win<br \/>\nthe lottery we never bought a ticket for.<br \/>\n(Tenderly, the monks chant, embrace<br \/>\nthe suffering.) The voice of God does not pander,<br \/>\noffers no five-year plan, no long-term<br \/>\nsolution, nary an edict. It is small &amp; fond &amp; local.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t look for your initials in the geese<br \/>\nhonking overhead or to see thru the glass even<br \/>\ndarkly.
