{"id":3725,"date":"2020-12-17T00:00:58","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T05:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/?p=3725"},"modified":"2020-12-17T13:45:37","modified_gmt":"2020-12-17T18:45:37","slug":"dec-17-o-antiphon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.udmercy.edu\/poetry\/2020\/12\/17\/dec-17-o-antiphon\/","title":{"rendered":"Dec 17  &#8220;O Antiphon&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Advent folds toward Christmas with O Antiphon 1: \u201cO Sapientia\u201d the first day<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Monday December 17 \u00a0\u2014 \u201cIt is the 3 strange angels . .\u00a0. \u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cO Antiphons\u201d are one of the few song-sets from the seven monastic liturgical hours.\u00a0 Their poetry and song bring Advent wisdom to bear on this \u00a0season of fear and meanness and dawning joy. \u00a0 They remind us that our hard times come to us as only part of a vast historical fabric, that hope runs deeper by far than the weariness of ourselves and of the women and men among whom we live. \u00a0When I follow the news and bring my 2020 awareness into the antiphons, they help me walk the world a little taller and with attentive sensual awareness.<\/p>\n<p>May these prayers do something like that for you too. \u00a0D.
