When:<\/strong>\u00a0URW is a\u00a0<\/span>nationwide celebration<\/i><\/b><\/span>, we will celebrate April 12 and 14.<\/span><\/p>\n Why:<\/strong>\u00a0Because we want to highlight the AMAZING research that our AMAZING students perform!<\/span><\/p>\n What:<\/strong>\u00a0Two in-person events for\u00a0<\/span>ALL<\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0students in the college of Engineering and Science to participate in!<\/span><\/p>\n Tuesday April 12 12:45-2pm : Lightning Talks (Chemistry 114)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n To highlight the research done by our students at Detroit Mercy, we have asked students to present their research in a lightning talk format. Students will be submitting one PowerPoint slide and describing their research efforts within a 2 minute window. If you are interested in participating, please register using the Lighting Talk Registration Form<\/a>. After registration, you will be contacted with more information.<\/p>\n Thursday April 14 12:45-2pm : Thank-a-scholar Social (Life Sciences Courtyard)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Join your fellow student-researchers and faculty for a feast! Food will be provided for undergraduate scholars to come and socialize with other students, faculty, and staff! Whether it is your first year in a lab, or you are close to graduation, come to eat and socialize. Please\u00a0rsvp<\/a>\u00a0by April 7th so that we can estimate food.<\/p>\n **Research Excellence Award:<\/strong>\u00a0For the second year, the Departments of Biology and Chemistry & Biochemistry would like to honor students who have excelled in their research programs. Nominations for this award must be completed by the Faculty advisor using the\u00a0Nomination Form<\/a>. We recommend that the awardee nominated for the award also present at the Lightning talks. Therefore, Faculty members, please remind the student you have nominated to register for the lightning talk. The awards will be announced at the end of the Student Research Lightning Talks and students will also be recognized at the College of Engineering and Science Slide Rule and Honors Convocation.<\/p>\n Titans come out and celebrate with your peers and help celebrate their hard work and diligence in research!<\/strong><\/p>\n Undergraduate Research Week<\/a>, is an annual event!
