Undergraduate research week (URW) is a week dedicated by the United States of America House of Representatives in 2010 to celebrate the accomplishments and commitment of student undergraduate research and creative activity (see Council of Undergraduate Research website for more information). At Detroit Mercy the Departments of Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry have come together to host URW events. We feel that independent research in faculty laboratories and research in teaching laboratories are important and exciting aspects of the education here at Detroit Mercy.
The events organized for URW are open for all Detroit Mercy students to attend. The week of events have varied over the years, but they stand to support the same purpose, which is to showcase our undergraduate researchers and their work. We hope you will join us in this annual celebration!
