Undergraduate Research Week 2020
April 6 – 10th, 2020
The second-annual undergraduate research week at Detroit Mercy will celebrate the accomplishments of our students performing research in a laboratory setting. Independent research in faculty laboratories and research in teaching laboratories are important aspects of your education here at Detroit Mercy. We strongly encourage the participation of all undergraduate researchers here at Detroit Mercy!

Monday, April 6th: Write a card to your research mentor
Chemistry lobby 9 AM – 5 PM
Come to the chemistry lobby to write a thank-you card to your research mentor or professor!
Tuesday, April 7th: Undergraduate research flash-talk competition
Chemistry 114 12:45 – 1:45 PM
Undergraduate students will present their work in 5 minutes or less with no more than 3 slides! It’s up to you to vote on who translated their science most understandably and convincingly. Talk nominations will open Friday, March 20th 8 AM and will close when spots are filled. Six applicants will be chosen to present on a first-come, first-served basis. Nominations may be limited to one student per lab, if numerous nominations are received. Send nominations with the student name and corresponding lab or class to urw@udmercy.edu.
Wednesday, April 8th: Image of research competition
Chemistry and Life Sciences lobbies 9 AM – 5 PM
Images of student research will be posted in the chemistry and life sciences lobbies. Please stop by to look at the images and vote with your phone! Images must be submitted by Friday, March 20th. Send images to urw@udmercy.edu.
Thursday, April 9th: Resume and CV workshop

Applying for a job, internship, or graduate or professional school? Drop by with your resume and/or CV and have it looked at by professors in the Life Sciences and Chemistry departments.
Friday, April 10th: Wear your geek-gear- ice cream social!

Wear your favorite science-themed clothing to an ice cream social!
Tuesday, April 14th: Day of Scholarly Achievement
Undergraduate Research Week culminates in this campus-wide event celebrating the research being done here at Detroit Mercy.
