As a high school student, Nara Gonczigsuren chose Detroit Mercy for its academic programs.
What she didn’t realize at the time is that she would discover that many of her favorite parts of college would take place outside of the classroom.
Gonczigsuren, who graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Leadership, made her mark outside of the classroom by participating in service immersion trips, coordinating a six-week summer enrichment program for minority students interested in pursuing dental careers, and volunteering for organizations like The Humanitarian Alliance of Michigan, World Medical Relief and Children’s Hospital of Michigan, just to name a few.
For her work living the Detroit Mercy mission, Gonczigsuren was named the undergraduate Vivre ex Missione Award winner at commencement in May.
