It’s official! University of Detroit Mercy defeated Oakland University in the 2018 Donor Challenge. The final tally: Detroit Mercy 697 donors, Oakland 683.

Detroit Mercy was officially announced as the winner during the Titans vs. OU Men’s Basketball Game, Feb. 9, at Oakland University. Oakland’s Grizz the Bear wore our Detroit Mercy jersey during the game.

Detroit Mercy won the first challenge in 2016 and OU came out on top on the final day to win in 2017. With Detroit Mercy’s win this year, the Titans now lead the series two wins to one.

This win would not be possible without the incredible support of alumni, friends, current students, faculty and staff. Congratulations to all of our generous and considerate donors for helping to make sure that Tommy Titan did not have to wear the bear this year! Go Titans!

Just because the challenge is over doesn’t mean we’ve stopped accepting gifts. Check out our crowdfunding page at impact.udmercy.edu and see eight ways you can help fund University initiatives and help our students become Titans.
