The Writing Center (TWC) will present “Creative Academic Writing,” a workshop for students on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. on Zoom. Students from all disciplines are invited to attend.
Senior TWC consultant and Detroit Mercy cybersecurity major Nicholas Blakey and veteran Writing Center Assistant Stuart Tucker will lead students through a series of steps to work toward what they’re calling “deblandifying” academic writing. By learning to apply concepts of creative writing, like using similes and alliteration, Blakey and Tucker will show students a few fun steps to add a little flair to essays and research papers.
