Spotlight: FOX 2 highlights Criminal Justice student’s work in poetry and literacy

Detroit Mercy student Liberty Brooke Stevens is making an impact through advocacy for literacy, creative expression and social justice. The Criminal Justice and Intelligence Analysis major recently appeared on FOX 2 Detroit to discuss her newly published chapbook, ‘God is a Lesbian,’ and her work promoting youth literacy through RX for Reading.

Spotlight: History and Political Science student spends summer protecting voting rights

In her role this summer as a voting rights organizer with the Michigan League of Conservation Voters’ Democracy for All campaign, UDM student Amelia Abar is serving communities throughout Macomb County by engaging residents in civic participation, protecting voting rights and expanding access to the democratic process for all Michiganders.

UDM students place first and second in ISACA Detroit Chapter Cybersecurity Case Competition

UDM students took first and second place, with freshman team receiving honorable mention, in the ISACA Detroit Chapter Cybersecurity Case Competition in March. Student contestants were Noel Renu, Adam Jamaleddin, Harrison Haviland-Longo, Ali Laho, Jarod Cunningham, Samwell Mchunga, Eyitooni Oladipo, Angel Plamoottii and Shifa Khanom.
