Assistant Professor of Psychology Miao Qian recently had her research published in Developmental Science.

Qian’s research aims to examine how young children’s racial attitudes change based on a single encounter with an outgroup member. The research, done in two experiments, examined the kinds of experience that influence racial biases, with the ultimate goal to reduce them in early childhood before they become entrenched.

Her research was in collaboration with researchers from Detroit Mercy, University of California San Diego, University of Toronto and Hangzhou Normal University in China. Learn more about Qian’s research by visiting this YouTube link.
