University of Detroit Mercy is launching the Ignatian Mercy Pedagogy Certificate Program for employees who are interested in doing a deep dive into Ignatian and Mercy informed teaching, research, service and community engagement.
The program is designed to enhance employees’ understanding of UDM’s mission. Those who successfully complete the program will receive a Micro Credential Certificate, awarded by the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities and Conference for Mercy Higher Education.
The certificate program consists of eight modules over two semesters and includes readings, discussion questions and reflection opportunities.
Reading assignments are expected to take no longer than two hours per module to complete. Seminar meeting sessions will be held Thursday afternoons from 2-3:30 p.m., through a mix of in-person, virtual and flexible delivery.
The seminar sessions for the 2026-27 academic year are scheduled to take place Oct. 1, Oct. 22, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 18 and April 15.
