Detroit Mercy Theatre Company’s TheatreLab series presents, “Kayak,” the captivating play by Jordan Hall for just one night only 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22.

The staged reading performance directed by Kez Settle will take place at the Live6 Alliance Event Space, 7426 W. McNichols Road, just a few blocks west from the McNichols Campus. Tickets for the event are free but limited.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Canada’s rugged wilderness, this heartwarming and poignant story follows the journey of two unlikely companions, a headstrong teenager and an aging park ranger, as they navigate the rapids of life and love. As they paddle down the river, they encounter unexpected challenges and revelations that will test their courage, strength, and resilience.

With stunning visuals, poetic language, and a soul-stirring soundtrack, “Kayak,” is a celebration of the human spirit and the power of nature to heal, inspire, and transform us. Warning: There is strong language and mild adult themes.
