Hope kits available for checkout at McNichols Campus Library

Image of outside of McNichols Campus Library in fall seasonThe McNichols Campus Library invites Detroit Mercy students, faculty and staff to stop by and check out its latest unique offering, hope kits.

The hope kits were inspired by the University’s Celebrate Spirit 2025 theme, “Sustaining a Spirit of Hope,” and the faith traditions represented at Mass. Amid global and personal challenges and uncertainty, the kits offer tools to remind us that hope is not just a feeling but a daily practice, nurtured through community and grounded in discernment.

Each of the eight kits contains a set of inspirational – or “affirmational” – quotation cards from a different faith or philosophical tradition. In addition to the cards, each kit may contain a set of tea lights, hand chime or other object intended to aid with reflection.

For more information about the hope kits, visit the University Libraries’ Research Guide on Sustaining a Spirit of Hope, or stop by the McNichols Campus Library to check one out.
