Poems from Conception to Composition with Kevin Cantwell, Oct. 17

Join the University community for Poems from Conception to Composition with Kevin Cantwell on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 12:45 p.m. in the Briggs Building, Room 317. The event is free and open to all.

Cantwell will read from his work and discuss poetic process, from conception to composition.

He has published poems in The Paris Review, The New Republic, Poetry, Irish Pages and Five Points, for which he was winner of the James Dickey Poetry prize. He has appeared on Poetry Daily and has been poem of the week for The Irish Times and RTE, Ireland’s public broadcasting platform. His most recent book of poems is One Thousand Sheets of Rice Paper, published in 2023.

He is special assistant to the president at Middle Georgia State University, where he is a professor of English. He is editing a collection of letters by the American poet William Dickey.
