Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Andrew Papa was published in the Voice and Speech Review, a peer-reviewed scholarly journal on voice and speech topics and training, particularly for the performing arts.

Papa also presented an interactive discussion over the summer at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) Conference in Boston, Mass., entitled “Voice-Speech-Action: Connecting Truth To Power in Performance.” His research focused on the inner connection with the voice so that it can powerfully serve plays in their performance for social change.

Papa sat on a peer-reviewed panel at the Voice and Speech Trainers Association/Pan-American Vocology Association (VASTA/PAVA) Conference in Seattle, Wash. entitled, “Anxiety and the Performer.” His research focused on the cognitive and physiological symptoms of performance anxiety.
