Anne Kohnke, principal investigator for the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) and director of the Center for Cyber Security & Intelligence Studies, led a team of faculty in the Cybersecurity & Intelligence Studies and Criminal Justice departments to complete all requirements for the redesignation of the CAE-CD, which occurs every 5 years.
The CAE-CD is jointly sponsored by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security and involves two processes: the validation of Detroit Mercy’s Master of Information Assurance/Cybersecurity program of study and the redesignation of the CAE. Detroit Mercy has been a CAE-CD since 2004 and is now redesignated through 2027. Less than 400 schools nationwide hold the CAE designation.
