Professor of History and department co-chair Roy E. Finkenbine recently gave a talk, “The Strange Careers of Solomon Northup,” at the Northville District Library as one of their Black History Month events.

Northup was the historical figure portrayed in the Academy Award-winning film, 12 Years a Slave.
