University of Detroit Mercy held four in-person commencement ceremonies on May 13 and 14 to celebrate graduates for the 2021-22 academic school year.
There were 1,512 people who earned degrees from the University, with more than 1,000 students participating in the four ceremonies at Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus.
The ceremonies were held in-person for the first time since 2019.
In addition to the four ceremonies, there were several other graduation events held on May 12, including pinning ceremonies for the Dental Hygiene Program and McAuley School of Nursing and a hooding ceremony held by the School of Dentistry.
More numbers from 2022 Commencement:
- Among the 1,512 graduates in the Class of 2022, 678 earned bachelor’s degrees, 448 received master’s or specialist degrees, 48 obtained doctoral degrees and 338 earned either Dental or Law degrees
- 1,060 graduates participated in the four ceremonies
- 728 students participated in two McNichols Campus ceremonies (464 undergraduate, 264 graduate)
- 188 candidates from Detroit Mercy Dental and 144 from Detroit Mercy Law participated in their respective ceremonies on Friday, May 13
