Professor of History Roy E. Finkenbine chaired and served as the opening plenary speaker at the Michigan Underground Railroad Heritage Gathering, Oct. 27. This event brought together representatives from across southern Michigan with the goal of helping communities better promote their sites and stories related to the Underground Railroad. It allowed historians, tourism professionals, museum officials, historic preservationists, educators and others to network around their common needs and interests.
Finkenbine also published the op-ed, “Would Frederick Douglass Take a Knee?” in the History News Network, Oct. 28.
