Joy and laughter fill the air at the Employee Christmas party

Selfies and photos for everyone celebrating the holiday season. Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Detroit Mercy Employee Christmas Party last week. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, food and excellent colleagues: What better way to ring in the holiday season?

During the festivities, 99 employees were honored for their 1,845 combined years of service at Detroit Mercy; 154 colleagues who have retired over the last three years or will retire by the end of this year were also recognized, representing 3,722 years of service to the University.

Rounding off the event, Human Resources presented the Commitment to Excellence Awards (see photos below). Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Detroit Mercy Campus Kitchen Manager Clara Gamalski, Detroit Mercy Dental Laboratory Research Assistant Jamal Alhabeil and Budget and Financial Analysis Assistant Treasurer/Budget Director Beverly Matlas.

Note: Human Resources recently launched a new page recognizing the outstanding service and dedication of our employees and retirees, found here.
