Detroit Mercy hosts NIH virtual panel with Hope College, April 15

Interested in obtaining NIH funding for your research? Attend the NIH virtual panel session on Monday, April 15, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 201 of the Student Union. The session will feature NIH award recipients from University of Detroit Mercy and Hope College.

Detroit Mercy Associate Professor of Psychology Kristen Abraham

Detroit Mercy Associate Professor of Psychology Kristen Abraham is a licensed psychologist with clinical interests in psychosocial rehabilitation, serious mental illness (schizophrenia and bipolar disorders), substance use disorders and third-generation behavior therapies. Abraham is currently an R15 award recipient.

 

Detroit Mercy Dental Associate Professor of Integrated Biomedical Sciences Eric KrukonisDetroit Mercy Dental Associate Professor of Integrated Biomedical Sciences Eric Krukonis’ current areas of research include the etiology of root caries in geriatric populations, infection control in the dental clinical and characterizing antimicrobial properties of essential oil products. Krukonis is currently an R21 award recipient.

 

Hope College Professor of Biology Virginia McDonoughHope College Professor of Biology Virginia McDonough’s lab investigates how cells sense which lipids have been made available in diet and regulate gene expression to control lipid synthesis. McDonough is Hope College’s most recent R15 award recipient.
