Associate Professor of English Mary-Catherine Harrison, presented “Teaching Race: Identities, Politics, Empire, Pedagogy,” at the 2019 Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies conference, hosted by Southern Methodist University. Harrison organized the featured panel with Georgia Institute of Technology’s Narin Hassan and Macalester College’s Andrea Kaston Tange.
Harrison was also keynote speaker at the Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars Annual Celebration Luncheon, where she spoke about “College Success and the First-Generation Student Experience.”
