Faculty, staff and administrators from all three campuses are invited to attend the annual President’s Convocation on Monday, Aug. 19, on the McNichols Campus. The convocation is a chance to formally open the academic year and includes a State of the University address and presentation on “Boundlessly Forward: Detroit Mercy Strategic Plan 2019-24.” The University will also welcome new colleagues, announce the faculty recognition awardees, honor emeriti faculty and deans and present the Agere ex Missione Mission Leadership Awards.
Mass begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Commerce & Finance Building’s St. Ignatius Chapel. Breakfast will be at 9 a.m. in the Student Fitness Center, followed by the program at 9:45 a.m. After lunch, all employees are invited to enjoy indoor and outdoor games, including the annual softball game, held at Buysse Ballpark, west of the Briggs Building. Casual summer attire is recommended.
