Detroit Mercy’s online graduate Nursing program is ranked among the top programs nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs” edition.
The University is ranked No. 130 nationally and performed well with fellow private institutions, placing in the top 50 for private institutions and top 20 for private, 100% online programs.
Detroit Mercy is the only private institution in Michigan to receive a national ranking.
“Our Clinical Nurse Specialist master’s program has become the University’s first online program to be ranked nationally,” said Mitzi M. Saunders, a professor and coordinator of the graduate CNS program at Detroit Mercy. “We hope this makes way for many more to come. With our educational outreach approaching a national one, we are excited to meet not just the needs of patients of Detroit but those across the country.”
U.S. News & World Report compiles its rankings through a pair of surveys – a statistical survey submitted by an institution and a peer assessment survey. Institutions are then ranked by performance in five categories: student excellence, faculty credentials and training, services and technology, engagement and expert opinion.
Detroit Mercy performed well in multiple categories, including student excellence, faculty credentials and training and services and technologies. The University also boasts a 100% graduate employment rate.
Detroit Mercy’s College of Health Professions and McAuley School of Nursing offers three 100% online graduate nursing specialties: Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and Health Systems Management (HSM).
