Environmental Design Research Association conference call for proposals

University of Detroit Mercy and Wayne State University will co-host the 52nd annual conference of the Environmental Design Research Association, EDRA52 DETROIT: Just Environments. The Environmental Design Research Association invites practitioners, researchers and educators to collaboratively rethink how environmental research and practice may serve as a foundation for change and justice. The event is planned for May 19-22, 2021, as a hybrid event in Detroit with both in-person and virtual options (fully prepare to shift to all virtual if COVID-19 does not improve).

The call for proposals has been released with a submission deadline of Thursday, Oct. 1. The submission types include the following:

  • Individual presentations (abstract, full paper)
  • Group presentations (intensives, symposia, workshops, practitioner-researcher collaborations)
  • Visual Presentations (poster, digital media shorts) and
  • Mobile Sessions (offsite special sessions).

There are seven conference themes:

  1. Framing Just Worlds
  2. Building Just Communities
  3. Sharing Just Resources
  4. Creating Just Societies
  5. Supporting Just Movements
  6. Designing Just Places
  7. Accessing Just Technologies
