Suggest an item for the Detroit Mercy Time Capsule

A message from Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Pamela Zarkowski:

I appreciate the University community’s participation in the 2020 Six Words initiative and once again applaud all of our winners and honorable mentions. Today, I am excited to provide the opportunity for Detroit Mercy students and employees to engage in another initiative during the winter term. We are looking for items that could be included in the Detroit Mercy Time Capsule, which will be integrated into the new addition to the Student Union. We invite all faculty, staff, and students to recommend an item that could be included in the capsule. All submissions will be evaluated by a review panel composed of students and employees.

We encourage individuals from all of our campuses to consider making a recommendation. The renovation of the Student Union, initially built in 1955, gives our community a chance to plant a capsule that will be opened in the future. How might we capture Detroit Mercy, the times we are living in, the University’s past, present and future?

We hope you will take a moment to reflect and provide a suggestion. We ask that you submit the name of the item with a short justification for your recommendation. Each person is allowed only one entry. The submissions selected will be announced in Campus Connection in early April and participants will receive a gift card. All suggestions must be submitted by Friday, March 19.
