The English Department has created a new scholarship to honor John C. Freeman, Professor of English, who passed away in January 2021. Dr. Freeman was an inspirational professor and scholar whose wisdom, warmth, support and humor impacted thousands of students across University of Detroit Mercy for more than 33 years.
Donors are invited to make a gift of any size to the Scholarship Fund. The John C. Freeman Scholarship will support the success of Detroit Mercy students, a fitting legacy for one so deeply committed to the success of each one of his students.
