Facilities Plan Advisory Committee update

The Facilities Plan Advisory Committee (FPAC) met on March 22 to review the campus renovation. Here are some recent updates:

  1. The Center for Career & Professional Development will move to the Student Union when Reno Hall closes.
  2. Department of Performing Arts has met with Facilities Management to review the department’s needs and to plan for their relocation out of Reno Hall. An agreement was reached that will meet the department’s needs. Moving forward, the layout of the facilities will continue to be developed.
  3. The Psychology Department and Department of Counseling and Addiction Studies Department are working on finalizing plans for the treatment clinics. Data is being provided to assist in developing adequate space.
  4. CHP is obtaining input from various stakeholders within the current facilities so that phase I renovation can begin this fall. In phase I faculty offices will be relocated to the new 2nd floor west wing, new and expanded simulation labs will also be constructed on the 2nd floor of CHP in conjunction with the existing exam rooms and innovation labs to create The STAR Center (Simulation, Technology and Research).
  5. The Engineering Annex renovation begins this summer.
  6. Renovation will happen this summer on the Quads and Shiple Halls to address safety updates. Ongoing discussion is occurring for how to move these dormitories to more apartment style facilities.
  7. The Student Union continues to move along with the multi-phase completion schedule as follows:
    1. Complete Summer 2021
    2. Public Safety
    3. Phase I Interior 1st Floor (Except Existing Bookstore)
    4. Recessed Plaza
    5. South Porch Area
    6. Phase I Interior Ground Level
    7. Complete Fall 2021
    8. New Second Story Addition
    9. Complete Spring 2022
    10. Phase II Interior 1st Floor (Admissions/Financial Aid)
