Detroit Mercy will host a Bioneers Pollinator event, the 16th annual Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit (GLBD) Conference, titled “One Earth Community,” Oct. 15-16. The conference is free to all Detroit Mercy students, faculty, administration and staff.
As part of the conference, Nancy Tuchman, an aquatic ecologist who studies invasive species in the Great Lakes, will lead a Zoom webinar on “Laudato Si’ and the Challenge to Jesuit Universities” on Friday, Oct. 15 from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Register for the free webinar online.
Following Tuchman’s address, the Detroit Mercy community will have an opportunity to discuss implementation of these ideas on campus, with the conversation being hosted by Assistant to the President for Mission Integration Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos.
Additionally, Detroit Mercy students, faculty and staff are welcome to register for the full GLBD conference by visiting www.udmercy.edu/glbd. The conference runs both Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Student Fitness Center on the McNichols Campus. Check out a full list of events.
The conference helps promote coming together as a community, committing to new ways of living, acting and thinking as well as tapping into the power and richness of the diversity in the metro Detroit area.
