Year-end backpack trip seeks new leaders

An annual backpack trip for students to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia is seeking new leaders.

For several decades, Fr. Gerald Cavanagh (40 years) and Mary Lou Caspers (35 years) have led a group of students on a week-long backpacking trip to the national park following the conclusion of final exams each May. The trip gives the participants, who are typically active in campus organizations, a chance to get to know each other and build community as well as reflect on their lives and career goals.

Both Cavanagh and Caspers are stepping down from their duties in leading the trip and are looking for new leaders for the trip.

If you or someone you may know would be interested in becoming a co-leader for the backpacking trip, Cavanagh and Caspers are extending an invitation for an informational meeting to share more details.

Contact either Cavanagh by phone (313-993-1630) or email (cavanagf@udmercy.edu) or Caspers by phone (313-993-1196) or email (casperml@udmercy.edu) for more information or if interested in helping lead the trip.
