Detroit Mercy men’s basketball senior Antoine Davis became the school’s new career scoring leader Friday, pouring in 39 points in a nationally-televised home victory over Milwaukee to pass Titan Hall of Famer Rashad Phillips for career points in Titan history. Following the game, Davis was atop the scoring list with 2,323 career points.
Davis, who connected on eight 3-pointers in the 85-60 win over the Panthers, scored 23 first-half points and then sank a pair of free throws with 6:07 remaining in the second half to give him the career record.
With Davis’ help, the Titans tied a school-record by sinking 18 3-pointers in the victory over Milwaukee. Detroit Mercy led 48-20 at halftime and improved to 3-0 in Horizon League play in 2021-22 with the win.
Davis tied his season-high for points with 39. The win marked the Titans’ fifth victory in the past six contests.
