Pistons to host Detroit Mercy Night, Feb. 1

The Detroit Pistons are set to host a special University of Detroit Mercy Night when the New Orleans Pelicans visit Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.

Detroit Mercy Night features Titan Hall of Famer Willie Green ’03 in his first season as head coach of the Pelicans.

By purchasing a ticket to the contest, Detroit Mercy students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans and friends can get a package that includes a ticket, a limited edition quarter-zip, seating in the Titan section and all-you-can-eat seats for just $49. The package also includes a donation to the University.

The tickets are in the new North End Club. The food spread includes hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, chips, popcorn, soda and water.

Green played from the Titans from 2000-03, helping twice lead the team to the NIT, including a semifinal appearance as a sophomore in 2001. He was the Horizon League Player of the Year as a senior in 2003, before he was drafted 41st overall in the 2003 NBA Draft.

He played 12 NBA seasons before embarking on a coaching career. He won two NBA championships as a coach with the Golden State Warriors in 2017-18.
