It’s time to meet your chili cook-off teams for the 17th annual Detroit Mercy Chili Cook-off taking place at the Titan Winter Blast.
The cook-off team’s for 2022 are:
- Chemistry Club — Olivia Peruzzi ’23 and Danielle Maxwell ’19
- Dental Alumni Board/American Student Dental Association — Jenna Dinka ’23 and John Dinka ’86
- Fencing — Jaydon Alojipan ’22, Wiley Dressell ’21 and head coach Todd Dressell
- Law Alumni Council — Jonathan Montville ’21 and Ahmad Mazloum ’19
- Phi Kappa Theta — Charlie Allen ’22 and Logan Tague ’20
- Student Alumni Leadership Council — Raisa Moborrod ’22 and Zach Sand ’18
- Student Success Center — Jillian Grabowski ’17, ’24 and Michael Schesnuk ’16, ’18
- Titan Club/Student-Athlete Advisory Council — Bob Rogowski ’77, ’79 and current SAAC student (TBD)
The Titan Winter Blast is set for Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Student Fitness Center on the McNichols Campus. The fun and activities start at 11 a.m., prior to the 1 p.m. men’s basketball game at Calihan Hall.
Event features:
- The popular chili cook-off
- Buffet featuring Coney dogs from National Coney Island
- Horse-drawn trolley rides through campus (25 seats per time slot, must reserve a time slot in advance)
- Fire pits and s’mores
- Fowling, a Detroit staple, brought to you
- Numerous games and activities, including cornhole, snowman can toss, face painting and kid’s winter-themed crafts
COST: General admission includes tasting at chili cook-off, open beer and wine bar, buffet, all activities and a ticket to men’s basketball game.
Students:
- Free — All games, activities and s’mores
- $5 ($10 after Feb. 6) — Food and beverage package (buffet, drinks, cookies, cocoa and chili cook-off tastings)
General Admission/Non-students:
- $20 ($25 after Feb. 6)
- FREE — Children 10 and under
