Detroit Mercy is offering COVID-19 vaccine or booster shots at a clinic Friday, Feb. 4, at the Fitness Center on the McNichols Campus.
The clinic will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Feb. 4. Students and employees will be allowed to attend their scheduled appointment regardless of work or class schedule.
Our clinic partner, RiteAid Pharmacy will be able to provide primary vaccine doses of Moderna, Pfizer and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson. This means that if you have not yet received your initial or final dose of a vaccine, you are able to receive it at the vaccine clinic on February 4.
If interested in receiving your initial dose of a vaccine, you will need to arrange for your final or additional doses at a pharmacy or outside facility, as the University does not have future clinics planned at this time.
To receive your first or second dose or booster dose, it is important that you sign up today here: Sign-Up for the February 4 Clinic.
The sign-up will remain open until all spots are filled. You will receive an appointment time in the days prior to the clinic.
F.A.Q’s for the clinic:
- The clinic will now include primary vaccination as well as booster-doses.
- If receiving a booster dose, you must have already received full vaccination and meet the CDC eligibility criteria for the booster.
- Review the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for eligibility.
- This clinic is for University of Detroit Mercy students and employees only and some University contractors. This clinic has not been extended to include friends and family or members of the community.
- Our clinic partner, RiteAid Pharmacy will administer the vaccine. They will not have a copy of your current vaccination card; therefore, you will need to bring your proof of vaccination with you to the clinic.
- Currently, the CDC recommends that if you are more than five months out from your final dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or more than two months out from your dose of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) then you are eligible for a booster dose.
- The clinic is held at the Student Fitness center on the McNichols campus.
- You will receive further instruction and information on what to bring with you to the clinic appointment.
The University is thankful for the opportunity to provide this additional safeguard and we look forward to another successful clinic!
