Celebrate canonization of Sts. Ignatius of Loyola and Francis Xavier

Jesuits and all who share the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola are celebrating the Ignatian Year in 2022. A part of the celebration has to do with the face that Ignatius was canonized — declared a saint — 400 years ago along with Jesuit Francis Xavier and others on March 12, 1622.

To celebrate their canonization and learn more about Ignatius, Francis Xavier and their spirituality, join the Office of Mission Integration for a special Mass on Monday, March 14 at noon.

Fr. Patrick Kelly, S.J., will preside with a special lunch and social afterwards, with time for conversation with colleagues and friends.

Ignatius and Francis were close friends and were inspired by the same spirituality, but they traveled very different paths to sainthood. Their different personalities and lives remind us that there are many paths to sanctity and many ways to be holy. Learn more during the Mass.

RSVP for the lunch to mission-integration@udmercy.edu with “OMI Mass” in the subject line.
