Professor of History and department co-chair Roy E. Finkenbine presented a paper on “What an Odawa/Ojibwa Oral Tradition Tells Us About Michigan’s Underground Railroad” on May 19 at the Midwestern History Conference in Grand Rapids.

At the conference, Finkenbine was also interviewed and filmed by the African American Midwest Initiative, which produces documentaries for PBS and places extended interviews about midwestern stories online.
