The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites the Detroit Mercy community to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
The month began has a week-long celebration in 1968 and was expanded to a month in 1988. September was chosen because it is a month that many Latin American countries celebrate their independence.
Below are some ways the University is celebrating, along with how the great Detroit community is also celebrating the month:
