Detroit Mercy Theatre Company‘s first production of the 2022-23 school year features Airness, on Oct. 28-30 and Nov. 4-6 at the Marlene Boll Theatre in downtown Detroit. Performances are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday, both weekends.
The Michigan premiere of this 2017 Humana Festival hit, Airness is a comedy about competition, completion, and finding the rock star in us all. When Nina enters her first air guitar competition, she thinks winning will be easy. But as she meets a group of charismatic nerds determined to become the next air guitar champion, she discovers more about the art form … and herself.
Student and veteran tickets are just $10, while faculty/staff tickets and senior citizen tickets are $18 and the price for adult admission is $25.
The production is written by Chelsea Marcantel and directed by Mycah Artis.
