Nominate for the Commitment to Excellence Awards

Calling all nominations for the annual Commitment to Excellence Awards, which recognizes a staff member or administrator in our outstanding Detroit Mercy community!

Nominations for the 2022 awards have been extended through Monday, Nov. 21. Please consider nominating one of the hard-working staff or administrators!

All full-time non-exempt staff and administrative exempt employees of the University are eligible and staff, faculty and administrators may nominate any colleague. Awards recipients receive a certificate, commemorative gift and a monetary award.

The 2021 recipients of the awards, which were established in 2006, were:

  • Lezly Pruitt for staff; and
  • Rebecca Simkins Nowak for administrator.

The “Rising Star” category did not receive nominations last year.

Nominations are based on the following criteria:

  • Nominees consistently perform their work responsibilities professionally and collaboratively and give excellent service to everyone with whom they work and serve;
  • Nominees promote and demonstrate the Mission of the University and the goals of their college, school or department;
  • Nominees take initiative in their work, going above and beyond what is required; and
  • Nominees are dedicated and accomplish their work with a positive attitude.

Recipients will be selected by the end of November and the awards will be presented at the annual Employee Christmas Party & Colleague Recognition Event on Dec. 16, 2022.
