Detroit Mercy men’s basketball graduate senior Antoine Davis has been one of the top scorers in the nation again in 2022-23 and Wednesday, he made the cut for one of the top accolades in the country in the John R. Wooden Award® mid-season top-25 watch list.
The Los Angeles Athletic Club announced the Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s Midseason Top 25 Watch List nationally on ESPN2. Chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on their performances during the 2022-23 season thus far, the list is comprised of 25 student-athletes who are front-runners for the prestigious honor.
Davis has had another prolific year in scoring for the Titans and leads the Horizon League and is second in the nation in scoring at 24.6 points per game. He is also second in the NCAA in 3-pointers made (63).
He is seventh in the NCAA record book in career points (3,103) and is third in career 3-pointers (492), just 17 away from the all-time mark. He is the second player ever in Division I history to amass 3,000 points and 500 assists in a career.
